Artist YE-IN is known for blending the tradition of Minhwa with her own contemporary sensibility.
Beginning in Miryang and expanding through Busan and Seoul, she has built a rich and distinctive body of work.

ARTIST YE-IN

Artist Yein first established her artistic roots in Miryang. Growing up in the city known for Arirang, she began painting from an early age and built a strong foundation through recognition at the Miryang Arirang Festival, as well as at the Arang Festival's sketch and calligraphy competitions.

Her years in Busan further expanded her artistic world. Through collaborations with a wide range of artists, she developed her own way of reinterpreting the traditional forms of Minhwa. Her attempts to incorporate urban scenery into her compositions were seen as fresh and distinctive. And this period became an important part of what gives her work its youthful energy and vitality.

In Seoul, she continued her active career with 35 solo exhibitions and over 300 group exhibitions, particularly in Insadong and Myeongdong. This reflects the steady recognition her work has received over the years, both from the public and within the art world. For Yein, Seoul was not only her largest stage, but also the city that became a foundation for reaching beyond Korea.

While rooted in the spirit of traditional Minhwa, YE-IN's work also speaks naturally to a contemporary audience. Her distinctive use of color, balanced compositions, and flexible artistic perspective define a body of work that is unmistakably her own. Because her art brings together the depth of long experience and a strong present-day sensibility, YE-IN remains an artist whose path continues to draw attention.
